Flights

Once in Atlanta, we sat at the wrong gate for a short time. The teleprompters told us gate E34 and our boarding passes told us E13 and E15. After realizing that we were the only people anywhere near the gate, we were told by an obliging ticket agent that our plane to Paris was boarding at the other end of the terminal. The students did a stellar job of listening to directions and we boarded without any problem.

During the flight, the USM students only had to be reminded to be quiet twice! Movies, card games, iPods, and videotaping one another proved to entertain the group. Not everyone slept, but there weren’t any complaints about the duration of the flight.

We landed at Charles de Gaulle airport at 4:45 AM on Tuesday. Making it through customs and claiming baggage was a breeze. We dropped our luggage at Hotel Majestic on Avenue de Clichy and slowly made it down the street to a café for coffee, tea, Orangina and croissant.

Kendall unwittingly coined a new phrase after receiving her café chocolate by saying, “merci boo boo!”
